Why TechnologyUtilizing technology effectively can change education in innovative ways. The use of technology in the classroom should be planned and intentional. One of the biggest takeaways from the MSET is that technology is a tool and needs to be used appropriately in order to be effective. The focus on technology is really what drew my to the MSET in the fist place. Technology is chageing how our world works everyday and education needs to adapt with those changes. The MSET does not cover every single educational tool that we could possibly use, that would be impossible, but it does teach students how to approach new technology and how to integrate it into the classroom in effective ways.
Alignment with MSET Objectives
"Technology will never replace great teachers, but in the hands of great teachers, it’s transformational." |
Coursework with an emphasis on technology:LT-731 Final Project : This project was creating in LT-731: Multimedia Design. The final project combined many of the skills we learned in the course: graphic design, animation, video creation, and had us use them to create a nearpod lesson. I made my lesson over creating and solving word problems. CET-753 Labs : In this course we learned about the windows server and the technology coordinators role in helping the school's computers (and everything that goes with them) run smoothly. These labs document the progress we made when setting up a server on a virtual machine. CET-756 Scratch Projects: This page is a collection of projects I created in CET-756: Intoduction to Instructional Programming. We spent most of our time using scratch which introduced many coding concepts such as looping. Scratch is a great platform for learning the basics of coding. |
